Clear expectations for using Scout Local™.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Novalyse LLC ("Scout Local," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Scout Local mobile app and the joinscoutlocal.com website (together, the "Service"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Scout Local you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. The Service

Scout Local is a production directory that helps military families find local businesses, services, and events near their base, and lists military-spouse-owned businesses. We may change, add, pause, or remove features as the Service improves.

3. Your account

You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You may close your account at any time (see Delete my data).

4. User and business content

You are responsible for the content you submit — including recommendations, suggested events, Beacons, messages, reports, feedback, business listing details, logos, photos, and event flyers — and you confirm you have the right to submit it. You grant Scout Local a non-exclusive license to host, display, and use that content to operate and promote the Service. We may review, correct, label, reject, suspend, or remove content to protect directory quality, accuracy, and safety. Community features and submissions must also follow our Community Guidelines.

5. Business listings and paid features

Business owners may claim or create a listing for review. The Scout Local app offers no paid features, subscriptions, in-app purchases, Stripe Checkout, or paid digital content. Verification and ranking are governed by documented criteria and cannot be purchased: listing status never buys a badge, ranking boost, suppression of reports, or removal of a verified-closed status.

6. Acceptable use

Do not submit fraudulent or misleading information, impersonate another person or business, infringe others' rights, harass others, attempt to gain unauthorized access, interfere with or disrupt the Service, scrape or misuse data, or use Scout Local for any unlawful purpose.

7. No guarantee or endorsement

Verification means the stated criteria were reviewed at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of a business's quality, availability, safety, pricing, or suitability. Scout Local does not endorse any listed business, and your dealings with any business are solely between you and that business.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on third-party providers (such as hosting, email, and notifications) and may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the content, products, or practices of third parties, which are governed by their own terms and policies.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Novalyse LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Novalyse LLC from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Georgia will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise resolved, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
